🗓 telc B1 — 15-Day Crash Plan (Aug 2 → Aug 17)

Exam date: Monday, August 17. Today is Sunday, August 2 — 15 days out, zero prior study done. This replaces an earlier 7-week plan that assumed steady progress since June 29; that didn't happen, so this one starts from an honest zero instead.

The good news: the hard part is already done. The full grammar reference (_notes/Grammar/, 20 files) and drilled exam-tip version (_notes/X-Class-Notes/, 12 topic guides + 48 source class notes), plus vocab lists and all four skills' materials, already exist on this site. The job now is drilling what's there, not creating it — that's a real head start most people starting from zero don't have.

This plan is front-loaded on what actually moves a pass/fail outcome: high-frequency grammar first (not every file cover-to-cover), daily vocab/reading/listening from Day 1 (not deferred), the two most-neglected skills (Schreiben, Sprechen) getting dedicated blocks, and real timed mocks before the exam — not endless review.

Days 1–5 (Aug 2–6): Grammar Crash + start daily vocab/reading/listening in parallel

Goal: cover the highest-frequency B1 grammar points fast, in exam-frequency order — not all 20 files read line-by-line. Skim the Grammar/ file for the rule, skim the matching topic-NN guide for worked examples, do one practice drill, move on.

• Day 1: Cases & Prepositions (the two topics that touch nearly every sentence) — 2-1-Cases.md, 8-0-Preposition.md, 8-5-Fixed-Preposition.md + topic-01-cases-declension.md, topic-02-prepositions.md
• Day 2: Tenses — 9-0-Tense.md + topic-05-verb-tenses.md ⚠️ Perfekt vs. Präteritum (when to use which), Partizip II formation by prefix — drill these specifically
• Day 3: Word Order & Connectors — 10-0-Sentences.md, 11-0-Coordinating-Conjunctions.md, 11-1-Subordinating-Conjunctions.md, 11-3-Two-Part-Connectors.md, 11-4-Adverb-Conjunctions.md + topic-03-connectors-sentence-structure.md, topic-04-negation.md
• Day 4: Modal Verbs, Konjunktiv II, Passive — 6-4-Model-Verb.md, 13-1-Konjunktiv-II.md, 14-0-Voice.md + topic-06-passiv.md, topic-07-modal-verbs-konjunktiv-ii.md ⚠️ worden vs. geworden, modal+Perfekt double-infinitive — drill these specifically
• Day 5: Adjective Endings + Relative/Infinitive Clauses (recognition-level is enough at this point, don't perfect it) — 4-0-Adjective.md, 12-2-Relative-Clauses.md, 12-3-Infinitive-Clause.md + topic-08-infinitive-constructions.md, topic-09-reflexive-dative-verbs.md, topic-10-relativsaetze.md, topic-11-adjectives-comparison.md. End of Day 5: one full Sprachbausteine (Teil 1+2) practice set, grammar-only. Start the Weak Spots list below today — keep it running for the rest of the plan.

Every day 1–5, in parallel (start now, don't defer):

• 20 min vocab: 2 categories/day from Vocab-Nouns/ + 15–20 verbs from Vocab-Verbs/, rotating weak/strong/case-bound (Nom/Akk/Dat/Wechsel via 6-Akk-Verbs.md, 7-Dat-Verbs.md, 8-Wechsel-Verbs.md)
• 1 short timed reading exercise (telc Teil 1/2/3 format) — review every wrong answer for why
• 1 short timed listening exercise — Telc-Hearing/1-Horen.md
• Bonus if time allows: 1 X-Class-Notes video note/day for real-class vocab clusters (banking, health, tech, environment, travel) — vocab only, skip grammar you've already covered

Days 6–8 (Aug 7–9): Schreiben (Writing)

Goal: make the structured email format automatic — this is the most learnable-fast skill because it's a formula, not open-ended ability.

• Review: Telc-Writting/1-Mail.md, 2-Mail-Examples.md, 3-Filling-Forms.md, 4-B1-Schreiben-Practice.md
• Review: topic-12-writing-exam-skills.md — formal/informal conventions, connector upgrades, essay templates
• Daily: write ONE timed email (100–120 words, hit all 4 Leitpunkte, 30-min limit) on a different prompt each day
• Self-grade each email against the exam-ready checklist in topic-12; log every recurring grammar slip in the Weak Spots list
• Keep the Day 1–5 daily habits going (vocab + reading + listening) — don't drop them just because Writing has the spotlight

Days 9–11 (Aug 10–12): Sprechen (Speaking)

Goal: build oral fluency under real time pressure — this is what self-studiers neglect most, and it needs the most practice-under-pressure time of any skill.

• Review: Telc-Speaking/1-Introduction.md, 2-Asking-Question.md, 3-Common-Phrase.md, 4-Presentation.md, 5-Idioms.md
• Review the modal-particle section in topic-12-writing-exam-skills.md (aber/denn/ja/mal/wohl) — easy win, makes spoken German sound natural
• Daily: record yourself doing ONE of the 3 oral parts, rotating — Teil 1 (intro Q&A), Teil 2 (picture/topic presentation), Teil 3 (planning dialogue — practice both sides if alone)
• Listen back same day, log every grammar/vocab gap, drill those specifically that evening
• If at all possible, get 1–2 sessions this block with a study partner/tutor for real back-and-forth (Teil 3 especially needs a partner)

Days 12–13 (Aug 13–14): Full Timed Mock Exam(s)

Goal: simulate the real exam under real time pressure, then see exactly where the remaining gaps are — mocks surface weak spots far faster than continued passive review.

• Day 12: 1 full timed written mock (90 min Lesen+Sprachbausteine, 20 min break, 30 min Hören, 30 min Schreiben) — same conditions as exam day, no pausing
• Day 12 or 13: 1 full oral mock (20 min prep + all 3 parts, ideally with a partner)
• After each mock: write a detailed error log — group misses by topic, not just "got it wrong." Cross-reference against your Weak Spots list from Days 1–11 — these should overlap heavily by now
• Day 13 (remainder): re-drill ONLY the topics that keep recurring in the error log — not a general review

Day 14 (Aug 15): Targeted Repair Only

• Fix whatever's still recurring in the error log — should be a short, specific list by now
• If there's spare time, one more short timed reading/listening set, nothing new

Day 15 (Aug 16): Rest

• Light review only — skim the topic-NN guides and your Weak Spots list, no new drilling, no new mocks
• Cramming new material the night before reliably hurts more than it helps — resist the urge
• Confirm exam logistics (location, time, documents) the night before
