Causal adverbs express a reason, cause, or consequence.
They answer questions like:
- ❓ Warum? (Why?)
- ⚠️ Aus welchem Grund? (For what reason?)
- 👉 Mit welcher Folge? (With what result?)

💡 Cause vs Result
Don't confuse weil with causal adverbs.

Word Order
Causal adverbs occupy the first position in the sentence.
Deshalb bleibe ich heute zu Hause.

Notice the verb comes immediately after the adverb.
